Mill Farm in Watchfield has been producing cider for over 60 years, ever since Gordon Rich began pressing apples there. Despite new additions like the popular Legbender cider, the farm stays true to tradition, using the rack and cloth method and ageing cider in old oak vats. As you step into the farm buildings, the sweet, heady aroma of cider fills the air, and you can explore the orchards where the apples are grown. During harvest, you can watch the pressing process and learn how cider—known locally as scrumpy—is made. The cider shop offers tastings of their ciders and apple juices, along with a selection of local produce, including cheeses, chutneys, honey, and pottery.
