The 51-mile Coleridge Way invites walkers to explore the breathtaking landscapes that ignited the imagination of Romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. This trail, named in his honour, traces his footsteps from his late 18th-century home in Nether Stowey, traversing the Quantock and Brendon Hills, venturing into the Doone Valley, and culminating along the dramatic coastline at Lynmouth. Along the way, hikers are treated to a diverse tapestry of scenery, from expansive heaths and moorlands to serene wooded valleys and flowing waterways. Quaint villages punctuate the route, providing welcome opportunities for rest and refreshment, and creating a truly immersive experience into the world that inspired Coleridge’s most celebrated works.
