Barrington Court

The near-derelict 16th-century Court House was rescued and transformed by Colonel Arthur Lyle in the 1920s into a thriving estate. He filled it with salvaged architectural treasures, his wealth stemming from the sugar industry. Today, the unfurnished, light-filled spaces offer a unique, atmospheric exploration.
The gardens, inspired by Gertrude Jekyll, burst with life: the walled White Garden, Rose and Iris Garden, and Lily Garden, all feature vibrant colours and intoxicating scents & the productive kitchen garden continues Lyle’s vision of self-sufficiency.
