Martock is home to the National Trust’s Treasurer’s House, a historic gem, along with an impressive 13th-century parish church, boasting one of Somerset’s finest carved tie beam roofs. The town also features an old grammar school, founded in 1661, adding to its rich heritage.
A small parade of shops includes a Co-Op, newsagent, and a bakery—which, in our opinion, sells the best doughnuts around!
Just outside Martock, in Bower Hinton, you’ll find Yandles, an old sawmill, now one of the UK’s largest dedicated Woodworking Centres. It also houses a craft supply shop, café, and gift shop selling beautifully handcrafted local items.
