Haynes Motor Museum – Sparkford, Yeovil. BA22 7LH

The Haynes Motor Museum is world renowned, and houses one of the finest car collections ever seen. Walk amongst this vast collection of vehicles, spanning decades of automotive history, learn about the man who started it all and discover the large collections on display,

 With 15 exhibitions ranging from British & World Motorcycles, The Dawn of Motoring, The Hall of Motorsport, Automobilia Library & Archive, Ferrari: The Man and the Machine, The Red Room & Williams F1, there’s something to suit all tastes. 

When you need to refuel, The Café 750 is the perfect place for a pit stop, serving hot food and drink daily.


Fleet Air Arm Museum – RNAS, Heathcote Road, Yeovilton. BA22 8HW

Fleet Air Arm Museum is the Royal Navy Museum, showcasing the most historic Royal Navy aircraft dating back over 100 years. 

With its wide range of helicopters and aircraft exhibits, over 30 thousand artefacts, more than 2 million records, and four exhibition halls, there’s plenty to see. You can step onboard the first British Concorde, take a virtual ride in a helicopter, see what life is like on the deck of an Aircraft Carrier, learn about Search and Rescue helicopters plus much, much more! 

 As this is an active Military base, you might even be lucky enough to see helicopters during their take-off or landing. 

Refreshments are available from The Warneford’s Café inside the Museum. Consisting of hot and cold snacks and a wide range of drinks. 


Clue HQ Escape Room – Somerton Business Park, Bancombe Road, Somerton. TA11 6SB

Why not try something a little different during your holiday with us. If you like a challenge, an escape room is the perfect mix of fun and logic. 

Compete as a team of 2 to 6, you have 2 rooms to choose from and 60 minutes to escape a locked room. Find the clues and solve the puzzles, use the items you find to work out your escape. Can you work as a team? – Only time will tell! 


The Kiln Café: Pottery Painting – Old Bank, Bow Street, Langport. TA10 9PD

The Kiln Café is a wonderful new addition to Langport. Housed in the Old Bank in the centre of the town, here you can let your creative side run wild. Over an hour and a half, you can paint anything of your choosing, from mugs and plates to lamps or vases. There’s even some seasonal pottery available, such as Christmas decorations or Mother’s Day mementos. Sit and relax with a cuppa and a cake & let your designs take shape. Pieces are usually ready to collect within a week, but if you’re heading home soon don’t fear, they can package & post your items out to you. 


The Museum of Somerset – Taunton Castle, Castle Green, Taunton. TA1 4AA

Discover 400 million years of history. The Museum of Somerset is housed inside Taunton’s Grade I Listed Castle and tells tales of the county from prehistoric times – present day. Learn about how the landscape has shaped lives from the very first foundation stones, through farming, traditions, expansion of the roads and railways & civil war. Have a look at Military History throughout the years of peace and war. Learn about the Castle itself, the role it played in the English Civil War & its near decline to ruin. 

 The Castle boasts a lovely café, The Courtyard. Serving up a wide range of freshly made food and drinks. There is also a shop, offering up souvenirs as well as a range of Made In Somerset products. 


Wookey Hole Caves – Wookey Hole, Wells. BA5 1BA

Wookey is a great day out for anyone and of all ages. Over the last 50,000 years, the caves have been home to people and animals, offering them shelter and safe place to live. Explore the caves and see how it would have felt to live there.

Bones of Ice age animals, such as mammoths, have been found in the Enchanted Valley (the source of the natural spring). See the artefacts that have been found in the caves at the Museum in the Mill, the huge stalactites in the Great Hall  & you might even find some cheese down there!

Wander through the Enchanted Valley, explore the cave diving museum, get up and close with some dinosaurs or even visit the 4D cinema, the choice is yours. For those of you who love adventure, there’s Wild Wookey – climb, abseil & crawl through the caves! There’s even an adventure golf course on site. 


Oakham Treasures – Portbury, Bristol. BS20 7SP

One of the largest privately owned museums in the UK, Oakham Treasures will take you on a trip down memory lane. It offers a vast collection of retail and farming history. 

Visit the ‘shops’ and you’ll see a host of famous name brands through the years, some you might remember from your childhood or some, you may never have even seen. Stop off at the Haberdashery and marvel at the beautiful collection of ladies wear from the 1930s, 40s & 50s. 

 In the Off Licence & Tobacconist you’ll find more rare memorabilia, including the figurines from Beefeater Gin, amongst others. Visit the Chemist and see the fascinating potions & medical ‘cures’ that were prescribed over the years! 

The Tractor &  Farm Museum is packed with around 150 old and vintage tractors from all over the world, with a large selection of engines available to view and an array of farming equipment that has been in use through the years. 

There is also a café on site, providing hot meals and drinks.
