Montacute House

Let’s begin your festive adventure at Montacute House.

This year, the house and grounds will be adorned with natural garlands and flowers grown in the garden. Join in the search for the specially designed reindeer hidden around the property. Each reindeer has its unique character, making it a fun and enchanting adventure. The Christmas ‘reindeer round-up’ runs daily from November 25th to January 1st (excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

Stop by the Courtyard café at Montacute House for a selection of festive light bites, sweet treats, and hot and cold drinks. And for your Christmas shopping, browse the National Trust shop to find a range of homeware, food, drinks, books, and toys, making it the perfect place to discover festive gifts or tasty treats for someone special.

Barrington Ct

Barrington Court: A Family-Friendly Festive Experience

Enjoy festive fun throughout the season at Barrington Court. The farm buildings are offering self-led crafts with a variety of Christmas decorations to create, catering to all ages. Once completed, you can hang your decorations on the Christmas tree, adding your personal touch to the festive celebrations.

Stay warm and cosy with the seasonal storytelling sessions in the farm buildings. Then why not treat yourself to a variety of festive hot or cold drinks and delightful snacks, at Beagles café. Explore the unique and locally made gifts and presents at Barrington Court, you’re sure to find that special something.

Prior Park

Prior Park: A Peaceful Christmas Escape

For a peaceful escape away from the city crowds, visit Prior Park in Bath. Follow the advent trail hidden in 24 logs around the garden, opening calendar doors to reveal seasonal images and clues. The Palladian Bridge is dressed in festive garlands, offering a picturesque setting for winter photos.

Warm up with a festive snack and seasonal drinks from the Tea Shed in the Cabinet (open on selected days during the winter months).

Tyntesfield

Step into a Victorian Christmas at Tyntesfield

Now, let’s transport you back in time to Tyntesfield, where you can experience a truly Victorian Christmas. Why not craft your own Christmas cards through lino printing, and enjoy a magical and romantic horse and carriage ride.

The estate will be beautifully adorned with enchanting decorations, creating a magical atmosphere that will fill your heart with the Christmas spirit. You could join the Christmas lino printing workshops, on select dates in December, where you can craft your very own Christmas cards.

If you have a creative side, the wreath making workshop from December 8th to 12th is perfect for you. Create your own stunning Christmas wreath using foliage gathered from the Tyntesfield estate, guided by expert florists. No prior experience is necessary, making it a wonderful activity for everyone.

Dunster Castle

Dunster Castle: A Winter Wonderland

Dunster Castle and gardens are the perfect places to soak up the festive atmosphere. Explore seasonally decorated rooms, stroll through the garden, and enjoy a festive treat at the Watermill Tearoom. If you’re looking for presents, the Stables Shop offers the perfect gifts for your loved ones.

Stourhead

Stourhead: A Dazzling Christmas Spectacle

Your Christmas journey wouldn’t be complete without visiting Stourhead, just across the border in Wiltshire, where the world-famous estate comes alive with festive illuminations throughout December. Gather your friends or loved one to explore sparkling tunnels, giant baubles, and glistening trees adorned in vibrant colours.
The trail takes around 90 minutes to explore.
